Hello, how are you all (its been so long I feel like I need some sort of small talk!) I am alright, thank you for asking! Been so ridiculously busy (as usual) no I haven’t been running
last time I went was in half term on a spa day, I did an hour’s water aerobics with a load of older ladies who seemed to have left their hearing aids off as they all went every week but seemed to have no idea what we were doing! So that was just hilarious. And I assumed it was like a 20 minute to half an hour thing but no, it went on for the full hour. And me, being a short arse, plumped myself in the deep end! It was really funny. I wouldn’t do it regularly but occasionally I wouldn’t be adverse to giving it another go! Then I did half an hour on the treadmill straight after! I had a facial booked in so didn’t have much choice on timings, and was determined to do SOME running so just got on with it and it was great my facial went on for an hour which was lush, at one point the therapist put a face mask on me and left me for 20 mins or so with relaxing music on and WELL I didn’t know WHAT was going on until I was woken up by a short loud snore coming from myself! I was SO embarrassed even though its unlikely anyone heard me
I was shattered all evening, I was just like in this daze.
So that was half term, 2 weeks ago I think? And I’ve been doing exam marking so have dedicated every evening to getting that done. Got them posted off a day early yesterday and then had a trip out with work today- a free trip to Drayton manor! They organise it every year for west midlands special schools. Our class are leaving in 2 weeks so it was a fab day. Got back for 3 o’clock and we were all shattered though! I got home for the first day in about a month and had no marking to do, so have put a healthy home made dinner on (check me out!) and gone for a run! It was only 0.8 miles, so short, but my running pace was 14 minute miles, not too bad for me, so it’s not surprising I didn’t go too far. I’ve got more exam papers due next week, so am hoping to make the most of these few days and do a few runs while I can
then maybe try to keep it up with short ones just to keep a level of fitness during the marking period so afterwards I can start improving again. I feel great now anyway. Really chuffed with myself. Of course, it was raining (and I mean pissing it down!) while I was out, after a completely clear 5 hours at Drayton manor, and a completely clear evening by the look of it! But that made it even more fun
I’ve missed having the rain dripping off my eyebrows and people looking at you like you’re completely barmy (oh if only they knew how GOOD it is to run in the rain!)
So maybe you’ll hear from me again in a few days! I’m off for a lush long bath before my lush dinner (lightly spiced tomato and lentil soup, mmmmmm!) so ta-ra for now! Xxx
